About Tom

Tom King is a celebrated Canadian author, broadcaster, and University of Guelph professor.

Tom is a Member of the Order of Canada. In 2003 he delivered the prestigious Massey Lectures which were broadcast coast-to-coast-to-coast on CBC Radio, and were published in his book The Truth About Stories.

Tom's writing has helped to bring attention to important issues that engage Canadians. He has been an outspoken advocate on issues of social justice and fairness. Tom has a passion for the environment. With his partner Helen Hoy, Tom has recently completed construction on an energy efficient, environmentally sustainable and healthy home.

As a broadcaster, he created and starred in the CBC social/political satire "The Dead Dog Cafe". As a celebrated writer, he has published numerous books including:
